Candida
Infection of the rectum
If you think you have candida infection of the rectum, read on for more information about the causes and treatments...
Candida is better known as a yeast infection that is found in humans and
animals that have a lower immune system. There are different species of this
type of Candida so there are different infections.
Some people notice it when they have been treated with antibiotics because
these drugs interfere with the normal balance of the bacteria found in the body.
Some of the symptoms in women include for instance a yeast type infection
that produces itchiness and swelling in the vaginal region and can produce a
burning sensation while urinating as well as itching around the anus.
Skin condition symptoms are usually in between toes or fingers and at times
around the anus. You may get a rash on the inner thighs. Candida infections
usually occur where the skin is moist and can harbor bacteria. People with ill-fitting
dentures may get little white sores on the tongue, lips or roof of their mouth.
Some even get tiny cracks or cuts and sores in the corner of their mouths, which
can indicate another form of Candida infection.
Diagnosis generally consists of scraping or smears taken from the infected
areas and looked at through a microscope giving immediate results. Depending
on where the infection is located, an anti fungal medication is usually given.
You must keep the areas dry until treatment is finished, infection can recur
even after you have finished treatment.
Women who have severe yeast infections in which a topical prescription does
not work may want to look at their diet to discourage fungal infections. Getting
rid of bacteria in the stomach and intestines will stop it dead in its tracks.
Yogurt has been proven to rid the body of the bacteria when it is enriched with
live “Lactobacillus acidophilus” which can increase friendly bacteria in the
vaginal region. Goldenseal has been known to reduce fungal infections as well
as Lactoferrin. Check for side effects and drug interaction on these as they
are herbal supplements.
The main thing is to keep your stress levels down, get plenty of rest, exercise
and in extreme cases of yeast infections, do not wear tight jeans or pantyhose.
These block airflow to the areas. Losing weight generally has also been known
to help.
Treatment
A number of my clients have tried a number of different types of supplements
and diet approaches. Whilst its essential to keep you sugar consumption to a
minimum, you also need to attack the yeast overgrowth with an effective supplement.
There are dozens of alternative treatments on the market, so its difficult to
know which ones to choose, there are many companies and website's selling so
called 'miracle cures' for candida, I would stay clear of these as they are
more interested in making a fast sale, than helping you to recover your health.
One recent supplement my clients have been using with good success is called
'Flora Balance'. It is available in powder and capsule form and is an excellent pro-biotic discovered
in a particularly clean, unpolluted area of Iceland back in the 80's. BOD (bacillus laterosporus)
the real name for the ingredient in Flora Balance, has been successful in controlling
candida and other pathogens, and is also good at re-balancing the digestive
system. It has received encouraging reports from the Candida Research and Information
Foundation, and has proved effective in reducing fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue
syndrome as well as many of the symptoms associated with candida.
You can see many of the benefits found after taking Flora Balance on the following chart:

We are still monitoring progress, but the results so far have been very promising.
Flora balance combined with a strict regime of no sugar or yeast, and keeping
stress levels well under control seems to be an effective way of controlling Candida.
If you think you would like to give Flora balance a try, you can order it
from the link below:

Finally, remember to watch your diet, keeping sugar consumption down is
paramount, particularly in the early stages of treatment. We do hope you find
this information useful, and that you progress back to full health again very
soon.
