Lower
Back Pain
There are many causes of lower back pain. It can be from over using your
lower back muscles or even a slipped disk. There are a number of other problems
that cause lower back pain, as well. Chronic back pain can be from serious injuries
that come from car accidents or serious falls. You should consult a doctor in
these cases. If it is a strain from over use then you can find many treatments
on the market that will give you relief and you should be back to work in a
few days.
There are a number of things you can do to help relieve the pain if it is
not serious. If you just pulled a muscle or strained it from twisting, then
you can get relief by lying on the floor with your feet up on a chair with pillows
under your hips, or just lay on the floor with pillows under your knees and
neck. You can also get a heating pad to help relieve some of the symptoms.
Taking over the counter medicines like Tylenol or ibuprofen can help to reduce
swelling, which can relieve some of the pain. There have been many herbal remedies
tried that people say have given them relief. Arthcare oil has been used and
it has been known to relief rheumatic arthritis and it strengthens bones tissues. It
increases the energy level in the tissues as it absorbs faster than any known
ointment. A couple of other well-known extracts are Shallaki and Ashwagandha.
Both have shown dramatic improvement in relieving lower back pain. Menthol
and Camphor are well known ingredients in many of the over the counter medications
you will find. Using these alone as a rub and massaged in has dramatic results.
There are also a number of things you can do to prevent lower back strain.
When you lift, make sure you lift with your knees and not your back. Squat and
hold the object close to your body while lifting. Sometimes being over weight
can cause strain on your back. Many people have felt better just by losing a
few pounds.
You can also try to push things instead of pulling them if you have to move
something. If you are going to be sitting for long periods of time, for example
at a computer, then try a break by getting up and stretching your back and arms.
Do a few bends and squats. Try not to wear high heels this puts a lot of strain
on your back muscles.
Exercising is probably one of the best things to keep your back strong and
flexible, especially swimming. At times, it does relieve back pain as well.
Many people have said Yoga is very helpful in dealing with the pain.
Always remember, if the pain persists and you cannot get relief with over
the counter medicines, herbal supplements, or other treatments, consult your
physician.
