  Male Impotence

Male impotence has been studied for many years and scientists have concluded that it is a physical cause and not psychological in the vast majority of cases. This information has made it much easier to try to provide suitable treatment for the condition.

Admitting they are impotent has been a fear of many men, usually thinking this is a blow to the male ego or that they are somehow no longer manly, and of course this is simply not the case. Statistics have shown that male impotence is a very common disorder and affects at least ten percent of the population. After the age of forty, statistics show that around 52% of men have shown signs of impotency.

There are many causes of male impotency though on ly very few are psychological. Some men appear to have been born with the condition, while others have shown signs after many years of sexual behavior.  These two causes are commonly known as Primary and Secondary causes. The secondary causes have been linked to Diabetes, High blood pressure, kidney failure, heart disease, and the use of certain medications.

Treatment for male impotence has become a huge market in the last decade, with the biggest seller of course Viagra. This has been followed closely by Levitra and Cialis and researchers are already suggesting an even better one is in the making as I write this article.

Sexual Counseling has been known to help when the cause has been linked to psychogenic reasons. This has assisted many couples who were on the brink of divorce when their lack of sexual activity was the root of the problem. In a few extreme cases where an accident was the cause, then surgery may be an option, but only as a last resort. An Andrologist can detect if the main artery to the penis has become blocked, which would make it extremely difficult to get an erection.

If you are concerned that the medication prescribed may have bad side effects there are some herbal alternatives or natural remedies that have been known to help, though their effectiveness may be limited. Horny Goat weed, Tribulus and Tongkat Ali are a few of the natural remedies that may be worth a try, but they offer no guarantees and may not have any effect at all in some cases.

Female Impotence

Thats right, It is not only men who have this condition! In recent years, studies have shown many women are facing female impotence also. They have given up on a healthy sex life because they do not enjoy sex anymore. Many women still have sex but it is often just to please their partner and they may receive no pleasure at all from the act. Cases of Female Impotence have been found to be caused by many things, including surgery such as hysterectomy. Many women feel removing the cervix reduces pleasure for them.

Vasodilator creams and gels have been tested for women to try and increase the blood flow to the vaginal region, thus making women more aroused.

You will have to decide which of the available products will help in your particular case but we always recommend you speak with your doctor before making any final decision.
