The many roles of vitamin K in our health

Vitamin K is crucial for blood clotting and heart balance.

A recent study showed that the more our diet is rich in vitamin K, the lower the cardiovascular risks.

By maintaining adequate vitamin K levels, we reduce the risk of bleeding.

Additionally, it has recently been discovered that vitamin K is essential for bone health because it prevents calcification in the cardiovascular system and strengthens bones.  It is often associated with vitamin D.
Vitamin K: sources

Vitamin K is essential for our body, but we must get it through our diet.  Fortunately, there are many foods that contain high amounts of it.  Vitamin K1, of plant origin, is even considered preferable to vitamin K2, of animal origin.

To increase your vitamin K1 intake, you can eat green vegetables such as cabbage, spinach, chard, endive and chicory.  Canola oil is also a good source of vitamin K1.

If you prefer to get vitamin K2, you can find it in foods such as liver and fermented dairy products.

It is important to maintain adequate vitamin K intake in our diet because it plays a crucial role in blood clotting and heart health.
